Delivering the global innovation ecosystem

Captains of Innovation helps corporations and large organizations focus on the full spectrum of innovation, and delivers the global innovation ecosystem in concert with CIC and Venture Café.

CIC (Cambridge Innovation Center) facilitates and curates dense and impactful innovation ecosystems in cities around the world. CIC’s mission is to fix the world through innovation by developing multi-faceted communities that support changemakers on their entrepreneurial journeys. Venture Café –– CIC’s sister organization and programming partner –– is a growing global network of independent organizations, driven by a shared mission and core programming. Venture Café connects innovators to accelerate innovation in each city that they operate in. Together, CIC and Venture Café serve over 300,000 innovators globally

Supporting innovators

Innovation is an essential part of corporate well-being. An organization that does not innovate cannot survive in the long term, particularly as disruption becomes more ubiquitous. Ultimately, it is better for a company to actively embrace innovation and disrupt their own business than to be disrupted externally.

Captains of Innovation provides bespoke, white-glove service to help partners find new technologies, connect with startups, design new products, build innovative business models, learn best practices, connect with thought leaders, adopt an innovation-focused mindset, and engage with the innovation ecosystem.

Captains in Action.

The world is changing rapidly and it is imperative that companies continue to think strategically and engage with open innovation. From fireside chats to pitch events, Captains of Innovation continues to discuss pressing questions in corporate innovation.

All organizations need to have a strategic plan for the future. However, many corporate strategies are built on the assumption that the future will reflect past events and present circumstances. It can be challenging to pivot if the organizational climate shifts or near-term expectations change rapidly. Scenario planning can build an organization’s resiliency as leaders develop narratives for several possible futures and plan accordingly.

Captains of Innovation’s Resiliency Navigator is a structured scenario planning tool and semi-guided exercise that will help you to craft scenario narratives, envision the shape of the future, and consider how your organization would respond.
